We are a small start-up based in Melbourne, Australia with a simple vision to offer apparel and accessories as meaningful gifts.
How did it all start? The idea started over dinner conversations. At first, it was just a joke when we talked about it. But the joke didn’t go away. It became a day dream. And the day dream slowly morphed into a dare-to-dream as it became a regular topic of discussion over dinner. Things started to get serious when we started conceptualising what it would all look like: Thoughtful and meaningful gifts with a clean minimalist design.
We started sourcing and speaking to suppliers. This was a challenge for start-ups like us with no huge volume to back us up. Design is kept in-house so we can maintain the minimalist look. The learning curve was steep as we had never started a business before. There were moments of tears as we paused and asked ourselves 'What have we gotten ourselves into?', 'Are we crazy?' etc. But feedback has been positive when we ran our ideas and initial designs past our friends and colleagues. More importantly, we prayed and the Lord has kept the door open. And so here we are.
So, why the name "Say It Differently"? We wanted the products to speak for you and from your heart. It can be an expression of love, a word of encouragement or a token of your gratitude. We also envision that these products will be a conversation starter to talk about the meaning behind the words or images. In a nutshell, we want our products to #sayitdifferently.
God willing, if this venture sprouts, we anticipate we will come up with more designs to offer. We ask that you bear with us and be patient with us for any mistakes that we make as we learn and grow.
